I received this book from NetGalley, and first let me say how surprised I was that I got approved for it! I usually don’t even try to get books from bigger publishing companies because I hate when I get declined, but I really really wanted to read this book! So imagine my surprise when I got approved! I think I may have actually fangirled a little bit I was so excited!I wanted to book because I absolutely LOVED the Iron Fey series, and I have been waiting to hear Ethan’s Story since the Iron Fey series ended… and let me tell you, the wait was worth it! I was super impressed!First of all, I love love LOVE Ethan, he was a cute little kid, and what he went through was horrible… but to see him all grown up now… WOW, I don’t even care that he is a mean and always in trouble, I mean seriously I went through what he did then I would be the exact same way!But what I loved most about Ethan, was though he was able to put his feelings aside to help the fey even when he has spent most of his life hiding and fearing them.Then there is Keinnan, as soon as the carriage drove past him in the Iron realm I knew exactly who he was! I was so excited to meet him, at the end of the The Iron Knight, he was just a baby, but now he is all grown up, and he is as powerful as his father, but as goodhearted as his mother… the perfect combination!And of course, it would not be a Julie Kagawa story without a bit of romance as well… so we got to meet Kenzie, she totally takes to the whole ‘Fairies are real’ a bit to easily, and I had a few theory’s going on in my head about WHY… but the real reason? Never in my wildest dreams would I have come up with that little twist… and when she finally came clean to Ethan… omg I thought I was going to break down and cry! (ok so maybe I shed a few tears)Basically this book was super amazing and I have such high hopes for this series! My only problem is… how can it even compare to the Iron Fey series?
