When I started reading Severed, I had literally just finished Oubliette, and although I had other books that I should have read first, and they are books that look really good too… I just couldn’t prolong the wait to find out what happens to Serenia as well as all the characters that I have come to love. So I started reading this book, even though I should have gone to sleep and waiting until the next day, and it was so good that I read it in like three hours! This book was by far my favorite in the whole trilogy… we had more romance between Reychel and Mark, as well as an unlikely pairing between Krissin and Ace. All the major characters were back in this book as well, as well as Ivy who I loved in the first book even though she was evil. I think the part I loved most about this book is that Reychel finally had some real power, she was not a helpless little girl anymore. Also Mark… in this book I finally fell in love with him! He was still a little soft but I think I have come to the conclusion that he wasn’t going to change into the ultimate bad boy, but I decided to overlook that because he is extremely loyal as well as oh so romantic! This was the perfect ending to an amazing trilogy! I want to read the next trilogy right away… but because there only two books out from The Swarm Trilogy I have decided that I am going to wait to start the whole trilogy because I want to be able to read the whole thing at once!
