True - Erin McCarthy I requested this book on NetGalley because I really liked the cover… I know I’m a little shallow, but if the cover isn’t intriguing I generally won’t read the book… So I was super happy when the book turned out to not only have a very pretty cover, but be super fantastic as well! At first, I really didn’t like Tyler, and I didn’t understand why the author would portray him the way she does, then to pair Rory with him… I thought it was the worst move either and at the beginning of the book I’m not gonna lie I thought about not reading anymore because the whole thing bugged me so much. But then, it all finally started to come together… I finally started to understand what Tyler’s story was, and the way he behaved and acted was because he was broken (obviously, because the male character is always broken in NA books) and the author finally started to portray him better… we got to see a different side to him which was that of an extremely likable guy. Rory was a pretty likable character right from the beginning, she was quirky and nerdy, and super naïve and inexperienced when it came to guys. She was adorable really. The exact opposite of bad boy Tyler, which is why when they finally got together it, was a good match. Tyler was the bad to Rory’s good, and vice versa. They needed each other. I also really liked the story behind the title TRUE it actually made me cry a little because it was so sweet! I think it was a very risky move to make the book so dark right off the bat, because as I said I had a hard time getting through the first few chapters because of it. But once you get into the real meat of the story it is super hard to put down and proves that the risk was worth it. Overall this was a fantastic book… once you get past the first few chapters… and I would totally recommend it to everyone who loves the New Adult books!
Always Remember (Memories, #2) - Emma Hart I was so excited for this book because I absolutely love every book that Emma puts out, and well Never Forget only gave us a brief glimpse of Jen and Bing and I knew I had to have more! This book was definitely not as sad as Never Forget, but I was totally ok with that because Never Forget seriously broke me in two! Always Remember did have something that Never Forget didn’t have much of, and that was sarcasm and just plain old FUN! But I think the main reason for that is because Always Remember involves the two people who personify sarcasm and fun! You cant help but love Jen for her smart mouth, she has the most hilarious lines and seriously by like the second chapter I was laughing out loud and I think my husband thought I had lost my mind. Although this story wasn’t such a heartbreaker story, it actually seemed more real… Bing had a past that was haunting him, and Jen just wanted to do normal. It was really cute how much they obviously loved each other, it had been clear from Never Forget that they were totally into each other. But I really respected how Bing stayed back and didn’t try anything when Jen was still with Carl, even though it was literally killing Bing to do so. Ahh Bing… he is so yummy and I totally love him, he starts out as a typical rich boy who gets who and what he wants all the time… but then Jen totally changes him, he grew up a lot in this book and by the end of the book he wasn’t just a spoiled rich boy anymore. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending, I knew it was the last book in the series, and it was cool to have a down the road look… but I wish there was just one more book or novella kinda like Holding On that was able to let us experience the intervening years with them. Although I had closure, I felt like I missed some major milestones that I wanted to be a part of. Overall, this was another fantastic book by Emma, I am honestly so excited for everything she writes and I am never disappointed! Everyone should get on the Emma Train! She is just amazing! If you havn’t seen it yet, go take a look at the Sunday Swoon-o-Meter to see how Bing rates!
Never Let You Fall (The Prophecy of Tyalbrook, Book 1) - Michele G. Miller First, I would like to say that I absolutely LOVE Michele! She is such an awesome person and if you ever need recommendations for a good book to read… ask her (I bug her on twitter all the time!) She has never EVER let me down before. However, regardless of my feelings toward her this review is 100% unbiased and is based strictly on the book.I love Fantasy books… this is a fact that I wasn’t even aware of until I started Paperbook Princess and had the opportunity to read The Dusk Gate Chronicles by Breeana Puttroff and The Gateway Chronicles’ by K.B. Hoyle (both FANTASTIC series btw) So when I realized that Chele’s book was YA fantasy that borders on New Adult (my new favorite type of book) I was super ecstatic! Never Let you Fall introduces us to so many characters that I cant WAIT to get to know better! First we meet Skye who has had a tough life, and the worst part? She doesn’t remember anything about her family or her life before she was put in an orphanage... so as typical kids in her situation do… she acts out by drinking herself stupid. Then there is Xander… I could go on and on about him forever but I shall hold my tongue as much as possible and save all my love for Sunday’s edition of the Swoon-o-Meter… but I must share a bit about him with you… Xander is gorgeous and loyal and brave and sweet and and and… yea like I said I can go on forever! But basically he watches Skye from afar and keeps her out of trouble without her knowing he is even there. Their relationship is kinda tragic, and I really felt bad for both of them because she has always wanted someone to care… and he has always been there caring for her from a distance… tragic right? Then there is Rioden and Selene, Rioden is a gruff guy, but I think deep down he is also really sweet and he obviously thinks of Xander as his son and only wants the best for Skye. Selene… hmmm… I don’t like her or trust her… there I said it… I hope everyone else agrees with me! I think she is hiding something MAJOR and I just don’t like her plain and simple! There are so many more characters I could go on about but those are in my opinion the main four that we get to know the most in Never Let You Fall. Oh and that title? You HAVE to read the book just to find out where that title comes from to begin with! It is such a sweet cute story and when the glimpse from the past is told I almost swooned because well Xander… *sigh* he was sweet even as a little kid! If you haven’t read this book yet you are totally missing out, trust me! This book needs to be read asap! Oh and Chele totally needs to WRITE FASTER! That ending? Seriously? So mean!
Dare You To - Katie McGarry Dare You To is Ryan and Beth’s story, and its another one that will take tiny pieces of your heart when you finish. I really don’t know why I keep putting myself through this, I swear I am gonna have a shattered heart soon! Anyways! I really loved this story, although it was pretty typical… popular boy meets girl from the wrong side of the tracks… however, regardless of that the writing is just so fantastic that you get pulled right into the story. I really liked Ryan, he is your typical jock… popular, hot, and from a good family… the works you know? But he is still very down to earth and normal… he doesn’t think he is god’s gift to everything; he is just a normal guy who happens to be good at sports. Beth is so awesome, in Pushing the Limits we got bits and pieces of her and she is honestly the complete opposite of what Echo was… Beth is brash, abrasive, spontaneous, and well a bit of a bitch… but in Dare You to we get to see a different side to her. She still doesn’t care what people think of her... She is totally comfortable with who she is and where she comes from. This is another must read if you love the New Adult books and want to have your heart break a little bit more! We can have broken hearts together!
Crossing the Line (Pushing the Limits, #1.5) - Katie McGarry This is a novella that takes place between Pushing The Limits and Dare You To.Ill be honest and say that I’m really not a fan of novellas, they always leave me wanting… And unfortunately this one was no different. This I Lila and Lincoln’s story, and although it is cute and sweet and very well written… We don’t really know that much about either character still.I really liked Lila, although I think she does need to grow up a little… But I just felt like there was SO much more to her then what we got. Then there is Lincoln, I think I could really like him… If I got more of him… He just kinda showed up outta know where or this book.. And yea we get a little bit of background but not enough. The only thing that really saved this book for me was the HEA at the end… And the fact that somehow we get more of these character in future books. As I said, I’m not a real big fan of novellas… And I really should just stay away from them altogether, but I didn’t and I probably won’t, so I will just have to figure out how to connect with a character in 100 pages.
Pushing the Limits - Katie McGarry I wont lie I had never heard of this book before… but then I got Dare You To from Netgalley and realized it was a series… sooo of course I needed the first book in the series first. I absolutely loved Echo and Noah, they were complete and total oppisties in every way, and together they definitely had a lot of issues to deal with… but right from the beginning they were perfect for each other. Don’t get me wrong though, this book is not all roses and sunshine… this book may break your heart just a tiny bit… What happened to Echo, its heartbreaking, there is no other way to put it. Then there is Noah, he is just as broken as Echo, the only difference is he doesn’t hide it behind a shy persona… oh no not my Noah… he is a in your face bad boy, and well you know how I LOVE my bad boys… and of course, he isn’t totally bad he has the biggest heart EVER and the love he has for his little brothers brought me to tears! This is the perfect book to pick up if you want a romance, but with a bit of an edge… just remember I warned you about your heart breaking a bit!
Entrelacen - Dani Morales This book was sweet one second, and heartbreaking the next. In Dani Morales debut novel she brings us a tale that shows you how two people living totally seperate lives are forever linked together. When I read this book, I was excited at the prospect of a book because of all the teasers and tidbits that had been floating around on twitter leading up to its release. Well, if you didn't already know, this book was awesome! Add in the fact that parts of the story are based on Dani's actual life, and well... it makes makes you feel that much more emotion and connection to each and every character!I loved April right off the bat, she had a shitty life, she knew it... and she just dealt. She was always making the most of everything. While reading about her life, everything she has gone through starting at such a young age.. its enough to break anyone's heart.Logan, well he is cute, adorable, and just trying to deal with whatever life throws at him. His life has not been a walk in the park either, and he dealt with it in an entirely different way then April. His relationship with his grandmother was so cute, and he was obviously very devoted to her and loved her very much. What I really enjoyed about this book was how we basically got 2 different stories... April's, and Logan's... but how they were so interwoven together and destined to be. It was a unique take on writing that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Holding On (Memories, #1.5) - Emma Hart So I generally don’t enjoy novellas so I don’t read them very often… however Emma Hart has basically ruined me for all books at the moment (ok I am totally exaggerating but I LOVE her) so I had to check out Holding On, especially because I really needed my Bing and Alec fix!So because this was a novella, it didn’t take me long to read (not that any of Emma’s books take me long to read) but this took shorter then most. It was a mix of a continuation of Never Forget and a teaser of what’s to come in Always Remember (which btw I am SUPER excited for)We met all of the characters in Never Forget, however we were focused on Alec and Lexie, in Holding On we really get to know Bing and Jen… and let me tell you their story? Its going to be AMAZING! Bing and Jen are both brash, sarcastic, fun, and quick witted… whereas Alex and Lexie are more laid back, focused, and calm. What I loved most about this book though was all the different points of views we get to see, this book has 4 different points of view, Alec, Lexie, Bing, and Jen. Each character is so totally different in what they see and say that it was fantastic to read each ones point of view.If you read Never Forget then Holding On is a must read just to get the continuation of Alex and Lexie’s story… although it is very short (and the ending totally killed me) don’t let the fact that its only a novella scare you, trust me so much happens in the book that you wont be disappointed!

Walking Disaster: A Novel

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire I honestly didn’t know what to expect because it was basically the exact same story as Beautiful Disaster except from Travis’s point of view, so I will be honest and say that I was very skeptical about whether I would like it. Boy did I ever like it! Whenever I read a book, especially the New Adult books I have been reading lately, I always want to know what the other character is thinking or doing, it’s something that is honestly always on my mind. So to finally have the chance to know was incredible! Walking Disaster is basically the exact same story as Beautiful Disaster, however because this book is from Travis’s point of view, there are a lot of differences because he sees everything different then Abby, so although we know the outcome of what’s happening, the road to get there is totally different. This book also makes you fall more in love with Travis because we really get into his head, and although I loved him in Beautiful Disaster, he was still pretty much a douche… but to find out WHY she does or says things, gives you a totally different perspective of him. This book was such a fantastic read, and you get dragged right into the story that you just don’t want it to ever end. Oh and that ending? I was TOTALLY not excepting that! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Go read the book ASAP! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! **Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a copy of Walking Disaster for review**
Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) - Jamie McGuire This is a book that I had been eyeing in just about every store I went into that sold books… but for some reason I kept resisting. Until I saw that there was a second book from a different point of view. That intrigued me because I always wonder what goes on in the other characters mind, so I decided that it was finally time to give Beautiful Disaster a try… and WOW I honestly can’t believe that I waited so long (yes I know I say that about every book, but its always true!) This book is told from Abby’s point of view, and the way it is told the author is able to wring every last drop of emotion out of you as a reader. Right off the bat we are dropped into a the middle of a storm basically… at least that’s the way I think of Travis… at first I honestly don’t think I really liked him because he just had this whole aura about him that was kinda off putting… but I warmed up to him real quick! Abby was a very interesting character, you can tell right from the start she is hiding from something, and until I found out what exactly she was running from, I had so many different scenarios running through my head. But then when you find out the truth… it makes total sense! However much I loved the characters in this book, I’m not gonna lie that was some effed up relationship they had going on! I really don’t know if I wanted them to actually work it out or not until I read the very last page on the book! If you were like me and keep seeing or hearing about this book (or the series) and you are into the whole New Adult books like I am… trust me you wanna check this book out, it’s like a roller coaster of emotions and events, at times you may feel like jumping off but trust me don’t do it! Just remember… next you get to read Travis’s side of the story…
The Love Game (The Game, #1) - Emma Hart The Characters:This book had a lot of characters in it that I wish I could talk about.. but in the hopes that they each get their own book(Yes Emma I am hoping for A LOT more books with these characters!)… I am going to narrow it down to 3Maddie - She is a sweetheart! She comes across as a major good-two-shoe, even a little naïve. She is focused on her school and although she wants to have fun in college… she is not looking for a boy AT ALL! But… its really all just an act, she is hiding some deep secrets’ that she doesn’t want people to know about… but slowly she starts to show everyone who she really is, and let me tell you she is FUN! Maddie is not just a little goody-goody oh boy no! The fact that she even accepts the challenge of trying to make someone fall in love with her is just the beginning of who she has been hiding! Braden – He is the playboy… if your female and wear a skirt chances are he’s had you in his bed. He is arrogant but charming, egotistical yet unpretentious. He is absolutely everything that a good girl should stay away from, and that guys want to be around. Oh and he is oh so super HOT, and he is actually really sweet, and not at all what he seems. Megan – She is the best friend (with the best name EVER!) She has known Braden forever, and only recently met Maddie at college. She allows the challenge to happen, even though she is best friends with Braden and knows a different side to him then what everyone sees. She is very sweet and once she realizes where things have gone… she plays her own game to get them to see whats right in front of them. She also comes across as sweet and naïve at times… then at others… not so much. Megan totally needs her own book! (yes Emma I am talking to you again!)The Good:This book is so super sweet, but its also heartbreaking at the same time. When I started reading the book, it was very similar to How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, but once you really get into the story you are able to see that there are enough differences to really make the book its OWN.Once again Emma has outdone herself, I am honestly such a fan of her writing! Everything she writes is always so amazing, and I always get so excited when I find out she has a new book coming out (even if it seems like the wait is always forever). Emma just has a way of writing her characters in a way that make them seem real, there are not fake people in her books… its easy to believe that these people could be real. I think that is one of the best things a writer can do because it always makes me want to read more. The Bad:It was too short? Seriously I read this book WAY to fast because I just couldn’t put it down!Honestly though, I think the only thing I didn’t like about this book was that I wanted just a little bit more of Braden’s background… we got a pretty big glimpse into Maddie’s past, but Braden was still basically a mystery other then little tidbits here and there. I also really wanted a Meet the Parents Scene, I think it could have been so super funny and totally would have gone along with the whole challenge part!Final Thoughts:Overall, I think this is my favorite book that Emma has written, and I am going to anticipate each book that has anything to do with these characters more then most books. The only real problem after reading this book is… well what the HELL can I read next that will keep me entertained?
Emblaze - Jessica Shirvington This is the third book in the Violet Eden Series, and let me tell you… I want book 4 like yesterday! I love all books that involve the supernatural, and well this book has that in abundance! If you haven’t read the first two books you are totally missing out. Emblaze is able to provide so many twists that there is no way to know what will happen next. It is also jam packed with action and the love triangle that Violet has going on? It’s pretty intense! Violet is a favorite character of mine because she is just so real… sure she’s not totally human but well, we can overlook that fact right? She is sarcastic, and witty, and she really doesn’t take crap from anyone… she is just a very strong female character. Lincoln is 1 part of the love triangle mix… I have been a big fan of his since the beginning, and although so much always seems to happen… I am really starting to lose hope for him and Violet… and to be honest; I may have a slight soft spot for Pheonix. Ahhh, Pheonix… he is the bad boy, although he is really like the ‘bad guy’ that everyone wants to kill, but that’s besides the point… every book I like him just a little bit more. I think he seriously loves Violet, and I think everything he has done thus far is because of and for her… I hope that in the forth book he realizes that he doesn’t have to be the bad guy… ok, maybe wishful thinking right? I mean there HAS to be a bad guy and well sadly Pheonix fits the bill. This book… no wait this whole series… is perfect for you if you like a angels, myths, action, and of course romance.
Losing It - Cora Carmack I picked this book up on a whim one day while I was wondering my local Chapters Indigo Bookstore. I had heard a lot about it, and it came out around the time that New Adult really started to be noticed. I started reading it, and within the first like 3 chapters I was so happy that I decided to give this book a try I just couldn’t stop laughing about what was happening! In this book we meet Bliss, she is so witty and fun and just plain normal, other then the fact that she is about to graduate from college and is still a virgin of course. Then she meets Garrick, and he is honestly the beginning of the end for her… he is hot, has a super sexy British accent, and is her professor! But what is a contemporary romance book without a bit of a triangle right? That is where Cade comes into the picture… he is Bliss’s best friend at college he is also super sweet and cute, and just all around too perfect. I will also not lie… I thought he was gay for about half the book… Cora Cormack takes us on a journey with these characters plus many others that is both fun, sad, heartbreaking, passionate, and happy. Her ability to spin the story and make it so real is just fantastic! This is one of the best books that I have picked up on a whim while at my bookstore recently. Once you start reading it, you are not going to want to put it down until you are done!
Georgetown Academy: Book One - Jessica Koosed Etting, Alyssa Embree Schwartz This is a really weird book to write a review for because I generally like to pick the main characters to talk about and then say the things I liked and didn’t like. However, this book has like a million characters that may be the main character and a dozen different stories happening at the same time… depending on how you read it. It was definitely an interesting book, I remember reading books similar to this when I was younger and I liked them so I was excited to see how this book would work. At first I had a hard time getting into it, but that may have been because I know absolutely nothing about American Politics. But once I got past that part and really focused on the characters and what was going on, I actually really enjoyed it and I will definitely be checking out the rest of the books in the series. I really liked how the first half of the book is basically a background story for ALL of the characters, and then you get to pick who to follow. I chose to follow Evan Hartnett because she seemed the most down to earth out of all the characters, but I plan on going back and reading each characters point of view because I want to see how the stay the same, and how they differentiate as well. This is a really creative way to write a book and I totally commend the authors for doing so. In all books that people read there are certain characters that you wish you could get to know more about but they are background characters so you don’t get the chance to. This book give you the power to read about who you want!
Never Forget (Memories, #1) - Emma Hart This book… wow... just this book… I have come to the quick decision that ANYTHING that Emma Hart writes is basically going to put me through the wringer… each book she writes will simultaneously destroy me and have me in tears, and then it will lift me back up again and fall in love. In this book we meet Lexie the city girl, and Alec the country boy. I get the impression that Lexie was basically a spoiled princess in the city who enjoyed to party but her main focus has always been school. Alec is the small town hottie, he is also a little bit of a ladies man… until he meets Lexie of course. I really liked how Lexie and Alec didn’t have an instant relationship… it was worked for. Although a good insta-love story is cute, I will always enjoy a book that has a little more work in it because well… that’s like real life right? So I find it easier to connect with the story and the characters. When I started reading this book… I had an idea of what was going to happen. Not so much about how the story would play out, but just the big moment in the book (I don’t want to give anything away!) Its not that it was predictable, I just had a feeling… and let me tell you… other then the whole love story going on, this book coulda been about me it felt so personal as I have gone through a similar situation recently. This is what destroyed me… I actually had to stop reading the book for a while so that I could compose myself and bring myself back into the moment and not live in the past. This book though, weird as it may sound, although it killed me and I haven’t cried like that since November, Emma just nailed every single emotion right on. I know what happens in normal… but to have it happen so suddenly? It tilts your whole world upside down and throws you for a crazy loop. So to be able to read a story about basically the exact same thing I went through, it was kinda therapeutic in a way. This book has absolutely everything you could want in a romance; it has friendship, love, loss, even a few fights here and there. Emma Hart has a fantastic gift of creating characters that really come to life on the pages and the ability to draw you into the story so far that you never want the book to end. If you are looking for a romance without anything supernatural… just a good old fashioned romance, this is totally the book that you need to get right away!
