This is the third book in Bethany Lopez’s Friends & Lovers series, and although I enjoyed Make it Last and I Choose you, I think that Trust in Me was my favorite. The stories in each series are more or less the same, but I think what really drew me in the most for Trust in Me is that because it’s the last book, I have kinda gotten to know Rich and Roni a little bit more, so I guess I have more invested in them because of that little bit extra. It was quite obvious from the start that Roni was like a broken little bird, and although I always hate books that are about abuse of any kind, I can’t seem to stay away from them because each author is able to take something so horrible and tragic, and make the character so strong and capable of so much still. Its awe-inspiring to be honest, and I truly wish it were the way things truly were. Bethany has done a fantastic job of creating a character that is broken, but not willing to give up. I loved Roni from the first moment she came to town and I was so excited about her story. Then there is Rich, he was honestly such a cutie and I loved him too. He seemed like a real nice genuine guy, one that loved everyone and everyone loved him. Yes he was a playboy but that was really his only ‘flaw’ and really, it was more about being a guy then anything else. This was a great end to the series; it was sweet, but super emotional. Although I am sad to say goodbye to all these characters, Bethany did a fantastic job of giving each couple closure so that you are not left wanting more.
